A Message from our Founder

Barry Richards

I’ve spent nearly 30 years helping organizations turn technology into results, more than two decades of it in UX and product design. My work has always come back to the same thing: taking complex systems and turning them into intuitive experiences people can actually understand and use.

I’ve worked closely with teams to align what users need, what the business wants, and where the product should go, delivering solutions that are both effective and built to scale. And I’ve watched every major wave reshape business, from Y2K to ecommerce to digital transformation, and now AI. Each one rewarded the companies that moved early.

Along the way I learned that great work goes beyond how something looks. It’s about empathy, clarity, and purpose: reducing friction, improving usability, and driving meaningful outcomes for both the customer and the business. Along the way I learned that great work goes beyond how something looks. It’s about empathy, clarity, and purpose: reducing friction, improving usability, and driving meaningful outcomes for both the customer and the business. And I learned that real success is never about technology alone. It comes when people, process, and technology work together toward a common goal.

Today that challenge is bigger than ever. The economy is moving fast and growing more reliant on AI, and that’s only one of the shifts a small business has to navigate. The ones that modernize their processes and technology stay competitive. The ones that don’t risk falling behind, and eventually failing. That’s what drives me, and it’s why I started Belaris: to help growing businesses adapt with confidence, make sense of what’s changing, and put the right technology to work before the moment passes.

AI isn’t the thing. What you do is the thing, and AI can help you build it, or do it. It’s not about replacing you. It’s about giving you the resources to accomplish your goals.

I care deeply about helping growing businesses compete, with a special commitment to empowering Black-owned businesses and the communities around them. If that sounds like you, I’d love to talk.

We win when you win.
